Cinematic scripts write themselves in moments like these. After being cast aside by his former team, dyrachyo will face Quinn and the Gaimin Gladiators in the Grand Final series of BLAST Slam 2.
Tundra Esports come into BLAST Slam 2 as the clear favorites, and it’s no surprise to see them in another grand final. Tundra only dropped a map in the Group Stage after a slip-up against Team Liquid, allowing them to start their playoff run in the semi final.
In the series against Nigma, they looked as sharp as ever, aside from a little bit of trolling to drop a map. However, the team quickly reset and closed the series in one of the cleanest performances I’ve seen this year.

The 33 and Saksa lane is one of the most devastating laning duos to play against, and it’s tough to slow this pair down in the early game. Teams must focus on shutting them down to have a good shot at winning games. Overall, the entire Tundra Esports crew is still in top shape.
Let’s be honest. Gaimin Gladiators have disappointed fans since they booted their former carry dyrachyo for watson. They’ve bombed out in qualifiers and failed to make deep runs in almost every tournament. However, they’ve secured their best result since the roster change in BLAST Slam II already and have only dropped one map throughout their venture in Copenhagen.
Like Tundra, we didn’t really get to see much of the Gladiators in the playoffs, as they’ve only played a single Best of 3 series due to the “King of the Hill” format. However, the squad looked solid in the match against Team Falcons, sweeping the MENA-backed team with a 2 – 0 result.

Despite being the new kid on the block, watson has always been a reliable carry, even through the thick of it. I believe the determining factor for Gaimin’s success is Quinn. He’s been losing most of his lanes lately, but I finally got to see the Quinn I knew in the series yesterday. If he continues in this trajectory, we all know he can put his team on his back.
Let’s not forget that Tundra Esports just won FISSURE Playground quite literally a week ago, doing so with a reverse sweep against Team Falcons in the Grand Final. Meanwhile, we haven’t seen much flare from the Gladiators besides a sweet upset in the Semi Final.
I’ll remind you that since dyrachyo joined the team, Tundra Esports has not dropped a single map against his former team. The current head-to-head record in maps is 6 – 0 in favor of the 33-led squad.
If this series was a Best of 3, I would give the Gladiators a decent shot at making the series competitive, but I must give Tundra the upper hand this time around.
Will dyrachyo have the last laugh, or will the Gaimin Gladiators reclaim their throne and return to silence their former star? I’m sure we’re all set for some spicy Dota, and we’ll likely see some offensive tips throughout the series.
