Just when we thought the professional Dota 2 scene and the community at large could finally take a breather after The International and PGL Wallachia Season 2, the brand new competitive season refuses to let up — this time with BetBoom Dacha Belgrade.

BetBoom Dacha Belgrade Power Rankings

Which teams do we think might do well here? Here are our power rankings for BetBoom Dacha Belgrade.

BetBoom Dacha Belgrade Teams
Team Name Power Ranking
Team Liquid 1st
Gaimin Gladiators 2nd
Team Falcons 3rd
Tundra Esports 4th
BetBoom Team 5th
Team Spirit 6th
Nouns Esports 7th
Aurora 8th
Talon Esports 9th
Invictus Gaming 10th
MOUZ 11th
L1GA TEAM 12th

Team Liquid

Team Liquid really needs no introduction at this point. They obliterated everyone at TI13, including their own perennial rivals in Gaimin Gladiators, by really using the meta to their advantage. It’s nothing strange, therefore, that we have them at the top spot on our power rankings.

We’ve had a small letter patch since then but the meta hasn’t shifted much.

Sure, their TI-winning offlaner Neta “33” Shapira is now playing for his former team Tundra Esports. But make no mistake: Jonáš “SabeRLight-” Volek is no slouch either. Considering that he once stood in for this very same roster at ESL One Kuala Lumpur in 2023, his acclimation into the squad should already be done by this point.

Gaimin Gladiators

Speaking of Gaimin Gladiators, they’re an obvious choice for second place. Although their long-standing carry player Anton “dyrachyo” Shkredov was released by the team just a few days ago, Alimzhan “watson” Islambekov should prove to be a worthy replacement — especially after he placed sixth at TI13.

The other four are still around, most important of whom is of course Quinn “Quinn” Callahan. If their understanding of the metagame is still just as strong as it was at TI13, they should have no problems reaching the Grand Final match at Belgrade.

Team Falcons

We have the powerhouse Team Falcons in third place, though this does come with a bit of an asterisk. Falcons have lost their form as of late, losing to HEROIC at PGL Wallachia and settling for fourth place at TI13. The level of talent in this roster is overwhelming for sure, but they haven’t exactly been stable over the last few weeks.

It’s certainly possible that they can overcome their shakiness just with pure star power, but considering the other two squads above them in our power rankings, they might fall just short again if Liquid and Gaimin both hit their strides.

Tundra Esports

Hoping to build on their sudden success at TI13, the members of Tundra Esports now look towards BetBoom Dacha Belgrade. The return of 33 is a big boost to their overall strength — though losing Ivan “Pure” Moskalenko, who has since returned to BetBoom Team after being on this roster on a loan, stings quite a bit.

Now that Topson has also retired, Tundra might be in for a bit of a shock. They’ll have lorenof standing in from Aurora but this lineup is a it of an unknown entity at this point.

BetBoom Team

BetBoom Team will enjoy a home advantage in a tournament that shares the organization’s name, but little else considering their middling, eighth place performance at TI13. Pure’s return is the only thing giving us pause about placing them lower.

Team Spirit

Now bereft of two important pieces in the form of Illya “Yatoro” Mulyarchuk and Myroslv “Mira” Kolpakov, things are very much up in the air for Team Spirit. The two-time International champions do still have a formidable core of players here, but their disappointing top 12 finish at TI13 is no doubt still lingering in their minds.

Add to that the fact that they’ve got two entirely new players joining the team, and it’s obvious that they will have to work hard to finish well at Belgrade relative to their results over the last two years.

Nouns Esports

Nouns TI13

Nouns genuinely had stronger teams sweating for a second at TI13, though the end result for them was less than inspiring at a measly top 12 finish.

They’ve since decided to stick together, so we have them at seventh on our rankings for the possible surprise factor that they bring to the table.

Aurora

Aurora Jabz TI13

Aurora comes into this tournament with a slightly different roster compared to their TI13 campaign, with Abed “Abed” Yusop being the most notable acquisition for the Southeast Asian team.

His presence doesn’t really mean much right now though, since Abed’s time with Blacklist International didn’t exactly bear much fruit. We think they’ll be one of the first teams to be eliminated from the playoffs at Belgrade.

The Rest: Talon Esports, Invictus Gaming, MOUZ, L1GA Team

Then there’s the last four squads, which we don’t think will make much of a splash here. With the possible exception of Invictus Gaming, a team that struggles with inconsistency on a regular basis, none of these teams really have the talent to get far at Belgrade.

It wouldn’t be shocking at all to see them out of the competition as early as the group stage.

BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024 begins on October 19th, starting with the group stage matches at 4am ET. Check out all the action on their official Twitch and YouTube channels.
