The Swiss stage of TI14 has ended, bringing us some insane Dota action along with very unexpected outcomes. It’s safe to say that most fans had their predictions nuked due to the surprises that happened. I’m going to try making a comeback with these predictions for The International 2025 playoffs.

Best TI14 Playoffs Fantasy Predictions

Now that we’ve seen the players in action, it’s easier to pinpoint which players are best for your fantasy team. Here are my picks:

Core Pick: Ame

Ame has honestly looked like the most reliable carry at the event, with Xtreme Gaming pulling off a 4-0 campaign to qualify for the playoffs. Individually, Ame has looked sharp with minimal deaths and high game impact. All around, Ame’s stats have been doing pretty well, and with XG poised to make a deep run, we’ll have plenty of opportunities for a pop-off game from him.

Alternative Pick: Satanic

I picked Satanic as my core pick on the previous stage, and I’ll continue backing him up, but this time, as an alternative pick. I have high hopes that PARIVISION will at least make top three, and with Satanic warmed up, we all know what this kid is capable of.

Mid Pick: Malr1ne

Unfortunately, I’m abandoning gpk~, who was my mid pick for the previous stage. Instead, I’m going with Malr1ne, who has been performing well in terms of fantasy points. Team Falcons are also looking to make a deep run, so he’s definitely going to do some mad work in at least a few series.

Alternative Pick: Xm

Before the event started, I didn’t think I’d be putting him as my fantasy pick at any point of the tournament, but Xm is going to be my second choice. Though Ame has taken the spotlight in XG’s Swiss stage run, Xm has also been playing some extremely clean Dota, mainly on his signature Puck and Leshrac.

Support Pick: xNova

Now that our ol’ reliable Miposhka is no longer at the event, we’re turning to xNova to carry the support role. With XinQ being a rather greedy position four, you can bet xNova’s going to place most of the wards and pop Smokes for some juicy points.

Alternative Pick: Cr1t-

If you believe in Team Falcons more than XG for the remainder of the event, you can go with Cr1t- instead of xNova. His fantasy performance was relatively strong, and he’s overall a very reliable support player.

Best TI14 Bracket Predictions

In terms of bracket predictions, you never know what’s going to happen. These picks entirely come down to who you think will win the tournament.

I believe one of these three teams will win the title:

  • Xtreme Gaming
  • PARIVISION
  • Team Falcons

I’m personally going for the PARIVISION route. Sure, they didn’t have the most convincing Swiss stage. However, now that they’re warmed up and have data from all the matches played, I’m sure coach Astini will figure something out and help the team adapt.

That being said, here are my bracket predictions, hoping that PARIVISION take the entire event:

Again, nothing in TI is set in stone. Upsets happen all the time, as evidenced by the past two TI winners – Team Liquid and Team Spirit – exiting the event in the bottom eight. If you think another team will win the event, feel free to go with your gut, but the bracket above is what I’m locking in.

Don’t Forget Your Titles

Once you’ve locked in your fantasy roster, you’ll get the chance to roll for titles. Each title provides different stat bonuses that can boost your points, and you can start with 40 tokens to spend.

It’s a bit of a dice roll, but don’t forget to use them wisely since a good set of titles could be the difference between entering the leaderboards or lagging behind.

Road to TI Predictions – Ended September 7th

The wait is almost over – The International 2025 kicks off in just two weeks, bringing Dota 2 back into the spotlight. This year, Valve is once again giving fans a chance to get in on the action themselves.

Through the in-game fantasy team and prediction system, you can draft your own rosters and put your knowledge of the teams to the test in the biggest tournament of the year. And if you’re not sure which picks to lock in, I’ve got you covered.

Best TI Fantasy Predictions

In TI14’s fantasy mode, each lineup is built around three players. You’ll need to select one core (either a carry or offlaner), one mid-laner, and one support (whether a position 4 or 5). Here are my picks – plus a few alternative options you can consider.

Core Pick: Satanic

The core pick is an easy choice for me. Satanic is shaping up to be one of the best carry players in the world, and he has the numbers to back it up. In almost every event he plays, Satanic finds himself at the top of the charts – whether it’s kills, fewest deaths, last hits, or GPM. All of these metrics are crucial when it comes to fantasy scoring, making him a reliable pick.

Alternative Option: Yatoro

Yatoro is always a safe fantasy choice thanks to his consistency with Team Spirit, especially when they’re looking poised to win the title. He’s almost certainly good for a deep run, and we all know what he’s capable of.

Mid Pick: gpk~

For my mid pick, I’m going with gpk~. He’s been the standout player on the BetBoom roster over the season, which says a lot considering how stacked that roster is. What makes him such a solid fantasy choice is that he’s basically a stat-padder. Even in games where BetBoom loses, he still ends with good numbers and rarely racks up deaths. If you’re going purely off stats, gpk~ feels like the safest mid option out there.

Alternative Option: Nisha

Yes, Nisha is probably the best mid-laner in the world, but he isn’t always a safe fantasy option. He’s a versatile player who does what his team needs, so that could mean he turns into a hard carry, or he becomes a sacrificial core going 3/10. And though this is his strength, it can sometimes mean weaker fantasy numbers.

Support Pick: Miposhka

For support, I’m taking Miposhka. After looking at how fantasy points are calculated, stacking, warding, smoke pops, all the little things – he’s a dream pick. He might not be the flashiest player, but he does all the dirty work, and importantly, he’s a position 5 who doesn’t feed. We’ve also seen Miposhka finish games with surprisingly high net worth, since rue isn’t the greediest position 4 out there.

Alternative Option: Whitemon

Whitemon is another strong fantasy support. He’s the position 5, racking up points through vision and constant teamfight impact, doing all the little things. He’s particularly good at navigating fights, even with little to no items, and with Tundra expected to make a deep run at TI, he should benefit from plenty of wins and extra games played.

Team Predictions

These are my calls for the team predictions, but as always with TI, nothing is guaranteed. The only safe prediction is that someone’s bracket – maybe even mine – is going to get completely blown up in classic TI fashion.

4-0 Pick

Team Spirit are the obvious 4-0 pick, even playing with a stand in, they’ve proved they’re up to TI standard. They’re not only the strongest team heading into TI14 after winning the Esports World Cup, but they’ve also built a reputation as group stage merchants. Unlike other teams that are slow starters, Spirit usually come out swinging, making them the best bet to go undefeated.

4-1 Picks

Both PARIVISION and Tundra are solid teams and rarely start slow. They’re crafty squads that come up with fresh strategies, and the group stage favors that style since opponents don’t have much time to adapt or prepare for solutions. I can see them dropping a map, but they should cruise through groups with little to no issues.

Elimination Round Winner Picks

For me, the top eight teams at TI feel almost set in stone, pretty much the same names we saw in the playoffs of the Esports World Cup. Team Liquid usually start slow and build up momentum, which is why I’ve slotted them here instead of higher. I debated between Aurora and Tidebound for the last spot, but I think Aurora edge it out. The rest are simply strong and proven squads that can hang with anyone at the top.

Elimination Round Loser Picks

These teams are solid, but the gap between them and the clear top eight feels too wide. If anyone can crack into that group, it’s Tidebound – they have experienced players who have shown flashes that make them the most likely contender. Heroic and Na’Vi are my dark horses, though, capable of pulling off an upset or two if they find form.

1-4 Picks

Both Wildcard and BOOM have popped up at international events recently. While they haven’t found much success, they’re scrappy enough to make some maps against top teams competitive. I don’t expect deep runs, but they should be good to snag at least one win in groups.

0-4 Pick

Nemesis had a miracle run, going from open qualifiers to taking down Talon Esports for their slot at TI. But outside of that, they haven’t played a single international LAN event all year. With a roster full of inexperienced players, I think their story ends short.

But then again, Dota 2 and TI never make sense – so who knows. They might suddenly pop off since probably everyone has them locked in as their 0-4 pick.
