After much noise surrounding his departure, rain has returned to the active FaZe Clan CS2 roster on a temporary basis, coming into the lineup in place of jcobbb for the remainer of ESL Pro League Season 22.
FaZe CS2 roster leans on rain to save the day at ESL Pro League S22
The return of rain follows what was seemingly a comedy of errors between both FaZe Clan and ESL, with both realizing just hours before their opening Pro League match vs. G2 that the team only have two of the invited players still in their active lineup. Based on when the invites were sent out, the invited FaZe Clan CS2 lineup for ESL Pro League will have been as follows:
- karrigan
- rain
- s1mple
- EliGE
- frozen
However, just karrigan and frozen remain of that five, leaving them ineligible to play ESL Pro League Season 22 as it stood. With jcobbb, broky, and Twistzz in the lineup, they were forced to forfeit their match vs. G2 and find a swift solution.
Well, cometh the hour, cometh the man. Flying into Stockholm on short notice is FaZe Clan legend rain, who it has been announced will play for the team at ESL Pro League Season 22 rather than jcobbb. While FaZe Clan must start in the 0:1 bracket tomorrow, it’s still a better solution than forfeiting the event altogether.
rain will be rejoining the active roster immediately, while jcobbb will be moved to the bench for the remainder of ESL Pro League Season 22.
Following EPL, rain will return to the bench, and we will attend CAC 2025 with a roster of karrigan, broky, Twistzz, frozen, and jcobbb.

rain’s addition will not be permanent. The team has already confirmed that following ESL Pro League, jcobbb will return to the active FaZe Clan CS2 roster, and business will go on as usual. Whether this will change (or can change) if FaZe Clan manage to win ESL Pro League S22, it remains to be seen.
