ESL has announced that the female ESL Impact circuit will suspend following the end of the ongoing Season 8.

ESL Impact to stop after Season 8

In a post on X, ESL confirmed it’s decision on Impact, describing the current economic model as “simply not sustainable.”

It does claim that its “commitment to creating a diverse and inclusive esports ecosystem remains a core value for EFG, and says it will “continue to support the community.” It is unclear what form this will take going forward.

Over the years, ESL Impact has become essential in improving women’s Counter-Strike, with Imperial Valkyries, the best female CS2 team in the world, even securing Tier 1 LAN invites earlier this following their performances at ESL Impact. This latest news comes as a crushing blow to a scene in need of long-term commitment.
