Falcons are slowly climbing to the height they have always dreamed of with these heavy purchases, as their boldest wager is finally paying dividends. What began at IEM Cologne 2025, where kyousuke showed the crowd that he is not merely ready for Tier 1 but prepared to bend it to his will, has been growing with every match Falcons play.
And in this event, it has been NiKo, who was absent throughout the previous showing, who revealed what the team can truly achieve once his firepower begins to speak. They are shaping up for yet another final clash against Vitality and will surely be hoping for a different outcome this time. But before we get there, two Semi-Finals lie in wait.
Against MOUZ in the Quarter-Final of the Esports World Cup, it wasn’t a ruthless one-sided dismantling, but it is fair to say Falcons stayed firmly in their comfort zone. It wasn’t just a show of firepower either; the team backed it up with disciplined CT sides. Next, Falcons face Aurora, who have arrived at this tournament with a clear sense of purpose. Earlier this year, Aurora were one of the most consistent teams on the circuit, but that form has faded in the latter half of the season.
If Falcons continue with the same composure and edge they’ve shown so far, Aurora may struggle to mount serious resistance. NiKo has been stellar this tournament, boasting a 1.22 rating, with m0NESY and kyousuke close behind. Aurora, on the other hand, have been carried largely by the heavyweight duo of XANTARES and woxic. For them to make this one close, they’ll need not only brilliance from those two but also a surge of support from the rest. As things stand, this feels like a Falcons series to lose.
If there’s any opponent you’d want to see Vitality tested against in a Semi-Final, it has to be The MongolZ. Vitality have only dropped a handful of matches this year, and one of those most recent defeats came at the hands of the Mongolian squad. While cracks have appeared in Vitality’s armour during the second half of the season, they’ve looked far more polished at this event. This semi-final carries the flavour of a revenge match, though Vitality should still hold the upper hand. Because after all, The MongolZ did lose to Vitality nine times before getting around them in their 10th outing.
That said, The MongolZ are not a team to be dismissed lightly. Time and again they’ve been underestimated, and time and again they’ve come to prove the doubters wrong. The outcome may be uncertain, but the promise of a riveting contest is beyond doubt.
