It’s almost that time of the year again, as the Major cycle rolls around as teams look to secure their spots in the biggest CS2 tournament of 2025. This time around, things are a little different, with the RMR system of previous years replaced by a more old-school invite system based on the Valve Regional Standings as of today (April 7th).

Invites have been separated by region and Stages of the BLAST Austin Major. 16 direct invites have been sent out in total. The remaining 16 slots will be determined via the MRQs, a series of online qualifiers in which the teams just outside of the direct invite slots will fight for their place in the main event.
BLAST sends out Austin Major invites
With the ranking cut-off for the BLAST Austin Major being today, all of the invites have been officially sent out and accepted by teams. The teams are as follows, separated by Stage:
Stage 2
- FaZe Clan
- 3DMAX
- Falcons
- Virtus.pro
- paiN Gaming
- M80
- FURIA
- MIBR
Stage 3
- Vitality
- MOUZ
- Spirit
- Aurora
- G2
- NAVI
- The MongolZ
- Liquid

These teams will avoid the chaos of the MRQs, as well as Stage 1 of the event. This will give these CS2 teams the best chance of winning the BLAST Austin Major. It also means we’re guaranteed some new stickers for the first time ever, including M80, Falcons, and Aurora. This new invite system also reduces the chance of any significant upsets, given the fact if you earn your place throughout the year, you’ll be at the Major.
