With Flor now in VCT, people were wondering whether the Shopify Rebellion roster was even competitive. Despite the lack of trust, they’ve gone above and beyond as the Challengers circuit dream is real. The best of the best are now the first ever Game Changers team to do so.

Shopify Rebellion Qualify for Challengers

Its been a long time coming, team captain Mel and all iterations of her teams have always been beacons of positivity and pushing the belief that Game Changers teams have what it takes. Frequent scrimming with teams in VCT, Challengers and a fantastic support network has paid off in dividends. The team now lacks their 2 time MVP and superstar Florescent, who took the leap not just towards Challengers, but into the main Champions Tour, signing with Apeks to well deserved fanfare.

But the new look with Dodonut didn’t leave anything out of reach. With their win in the Lower Bracket Final, they now have a guaranteed place in the Americas Challengers circuit, hoping to put even more eyes on the roster for the coming VCT season.

Shopify Rebellion came in as the talent favorite to take the deciding match in the closed qualifiers. Their only loss on route was a 2-0 drop to the lower bracket against fellow qualifiers Winthrop University. And 2-0s would be the name of the game for Shopify’s run, making short work of Flyquest Red and taking to the server one last time to face Funhavers. The series wouldn’t need to go to the third map of Haven, as the Rebels would finish out 13-11 on Fracture (Funhaver’s map pick), just narrowly avoiding overtime, and a more comfortable Pearl at 13-6. As always, Shopify looked drilled even when playing from behind and great adaptation in the second half of Fracture was a real turning point for getting the game under control and sending trades back and forth.

Make no mistake, Shopify Rebellion were the full crown court of Game Changers and were always setting their sights on the sky above the sky. Now that the members, past and present have walked the walk after quite deservedly talking the talk, I can’t wait to see their strides through Challengers.
