Sentinels have officially signed Jonah “JonahP” Pulice, ending weeks of speculation and handing the Canadian flex veteran the chance to rebuild one of NA’s most storied organizations. G2 had announced his departure just a few hours before the announcement, and he joins following a tumultuous period for SEN after their poor Kickoff run led to the replacing of long-term head coach kaplan.

JonahP’s signing officially confirms he will replace Kyu on the roster. However, per CEO Rob Moore’s earlier statements, Sentinels planned two changes to the roster, implying one more move is still incoming. While there had been rumors and reports that JonahP had reached a verbal agreement and would slot in as the team’s primary scan initiator, there is no confirmation as to the fifth player’s identity or who they will be replacing. While Tyson “tenZ” Ngo has been spotted playing with the team in scrims, there is no confirmation if he will be joining.
Here is where Sentinels stand currently heading into VCT 2026 Americas Stage 1:
| Player | Role |
|---|---|
| Amine “johnqt” Ouarid | Flex / IGL |
| Marshall “N4RRATE” Massey | Duelist / Flex |
| Yassin “reduxx” Aboulalazm | Duelist / Flex |
| Gabriel “cortezia” Cortez | Controller |
| Jonah “JonahP” Pulice | Initiator / Scanner |
| Martin “Ewok” Van Der Walt | Head Coach |
With johnqt returning to the helm as IGL, a new coach, and one of North America’s most consistent players joining the roster, the new Sentinels already looks more promising as they head into the next phase. Stage 1 Americas begins April 10. The redemption arc starts now.

While JonahP was navigating his messy departure from G2, Sentinels were busy having arguably the worst tournament of their modern era. Entering VCT 2026 Americas Kickoff with a substantially rebuilt roster, featuring Amine “johnqt” Ouarid, Marshall “N4RRATE” Massey, Yassin “reduxx” Aboulalazm, Mirel “Kyu” Hrustemovic, and Gabriel “cortezia” Cortez under head coach kaplan. The team was expected to be a work in progress, but few anticipated just how rough it would be.
Sentinels managed to win just one series across the entire Kickoff, finishing a dismal 9th–10th place. They lost to FURIA in the upper bracket, fell to 100 Thieves and Leviatán in elimination matches, and never found any consistent footing. Role confusion was rampant: johnqt was shuffled around from flex to smokes to IGL duties, N4RRATE struggled on duelist, and Kyu’s performances at the initiator role and as IGL drew scrutiny. The team failed to qualify for VALORANT Masters Santiago, a tournament where G2, FURIA, and NRG all qualified, making the sting that much sharper for a fanbase that expects Sentinels to compete on the biggest stages.
In the aftermath, Sentinels CEO Rob Moore confirmed that two roster changes were coming before Stage 1, and head coach kaplan was let go and replaced by Martin “Ewok” Van Der Walt, formerly of Rex Regum Qeon.

JonahP first made a name for himself in 2022 playing for The Guard, where he was part of a young and scrappy squad that upset OpTic Gaming to win VCT North America Stage 1 Challengers, an early sign that this player was something special. In 2023, he helped lift the team to Ascension Americas glory, earning The Guard a coveted spot in the International League.
When The Guard was unable to meet Riot’s partnership requirements and exited the ecosystem, G2 Esports swooped in and acquired the core, including JonahP. It proved to be a smart bet. Over two seasons with G2, JonahP became arguably the most well-rounded flex player in the Americas region, earning the nickname “The Professor” for his elite game sense and consistency across multiple roles, from initiators like Skye and Sova to controllers and everything in between.
In 2025, JonahP reached the peak of his career at the regional level, helping G2 secure a domestic three-peat by winning both VCT Americas Stage 1 and Stage 2, along with the Red Bull Home Ground tournament. He also reached the grand final of Masters Bangkok 2025 before falling short. The one ghost that always followed the G2 roster was their inability to win an international title, a painful recurring theme despite consistent excellence at home.
Then came the shock: in November 2025, G2 quietly removed JonahP from their active roster ahead of the 2026 season, drawing massive community backlash. JonahP himself noted at the time that the “timeline didn’t put me in the best position” to find a new team, but he promised he’d tell the full story eventually. Fortunately, that story has a very good ending.
