Schalke 04 Esports have had a rough start in the 2020 LEC season. The team is currently 0-4 and decided that a roster change was needed to improve their performance. Lurox is a star jungler who has helped Schalke’s academy team achieve a 5-0 record in the Prime League Pro Division.

The organization explained their decision in the announcement video: “We decided to give Lurox a shot on the big stage… we said from the very first moment that we think he might be ready.”

Schalke 04 also made it clear that the decision was not based on Gilius’s performance. It was made on what would be best for the team: “It is not about the performance of Gilius… it’s about Lurox’s performance.”

Schalke is currently tied in last place with Team Vitality who are also 0-4. The teams have made a friendly bet that the first person to win a LEC match will give away the other teams jersey. While the organization seems to still be in good spirits after a rough start, hopefully the lineup change will finally get them a win.

Lurox has practiced with the team and already has an established chemistry. Hopefully it will allow the team to get back on track. The new Schalke 04 roster will have their first match tomorrow against Misfits at 12pm CST.
