Post Malone to be the bridge for gaming and music

Announced by the Esports World Cup Foundation (EWCF) through a LinkedIn post from the EWCF, the artist will be bringing together ‘gaming, music, and culture’.

Post Malone has had ties with the esports industry over the years. Back in 2020, the singer was previously an owner of esports team Envy Gaming, and had previously streamed FPS-focused games like Call of Duty: Warzone on his Twitch channel.

With global stars in the music space like Post Malone, the EWCF is putting efforts into combining music and gaming for the digital generations. Earlier this year, the tournament organizers launched a music initiative to allow artists to submit music tracks that will be used in events and broadcasts.

Yesterday, the EWCF also released the official remix for the Esports World Cup’s lead track, Ascension, in collaboration with virtuoso cellist Tina Guo and global award-winning DJ Alesso. Music is not the only industry to be in close ties with the EWC. Last week, football icon Cristiano Ronaldo was announced as a global ambassador.

Mike McCabe, Chief Operating Officer of the EWCF, said: “Esports is becoming a global cultural force — where music, storytelling, and competition converge to create moments that are not just seen, but felt. With Post Malone, a global artist and true gamer, opening the tournament, we continue to celebrate the power of music — a universal language that brings fans together and defines the cultural future of esports.”

The Esports World Cup Foundation is backed by the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund, which has raised concern among the gaming community due to the Kingdom’s history regarding human rights record.
