Call of Duty is one of the most popular and prolific game series in history. The first Call of Duty game was released on October 28, 2003 and featured players taking the trenches of World War II. CoD initially separated itself from other WWII FPS games by giving players control of several characters on various sides of the conflict and by pairing up the player with AI-controlled teammates.
