MPL Philippines Season 17 Kicks Off New Era as Mobile Legends Celebrates 10 Years

The game is celebrating its 10th anniversary. MPL PH is marking the occasion with a new campaign, a brand-new home venue, and the introduction of international player imports. Highlighting the league’s continued evolution as one of the most influential esports competitions in the world and the dominiant region for MLBB esports in 2026.

“Palag Na ‘To!” defines Season 17

MPL PH Season 17 rallies fans under a new battle cry: “Palag Na ‘To!”

The phrase captures the fearless competitive spirit that has long defined Filipino esports. In local gaming culture, palag is an expression used before stepping into a challenge—signaling confidence, resilience, and a willingness to fight regardless of the odds.

That mindset mirrors the identity of MPL PH itself. Since its launch in 2018, the league has grown into one of the most successful regional esports competitions globally. Producing multiple MLBB world champions and cultivating one of the most passionate fanbases in competitive gaming.

Season 17 aims to continue that tradition while pushing the league into a new era.

One of the biggest changes for the upcoming season is MPL PH’s move to a new home venue.

Starting this season, matches will be held at Victoria Sports Tower in Quezon City. As one of the Philippines’ largest indoor sports facilities, the venue represents a major upgrade for live competition. The move allows MPL PH to host larger audiences and deliver a more immersive esports viewing experience for fans attending the matches in person. It also reflects the steady professionalization of the MLBB esports ecosystem in the Philippines.

With bigger crowds, improved production setups, and expanded fan engagement spaces, the new venue signals the league’s growing ambitions.

International Imports Join the League in MPL PH Season 17

Season 17 also marks an important milestone for MPL PH as the league welcomes its first international player imports.

Two players from Indonesia will compete in the league this season. Clayton “Savero” Kuswanto and Sultan “AeronnShikii” Muhammad.

Their arrival highlights the increasing global appeal of MPL Philippines. For years, the region has been recognized as one of the strongest in MLBB esports, consistently producing world championship teams and elite players. Belonging to the best MLBB teams with high caliber of gameplay and full of achievements, the two Indonesian imports have big shoes to fill if they want to survive the strongest region in MLBB.

By opening the league to overseas talent, MPL PH is positioning itself as a regional hub where top players from around the world can compete and develop.

Matches will take place every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with teams battling in a double round-robin format to secure crucial standings points and qualify for the playoffs. The opening day will already feature a blockbuster matchup as Aurora Gaming takes on Team Liquid Philippines.

The representatives from M7 will start us off, giving one Indonesian Import, Aeronnshikii a chance to immediately prove himself. Following him would be Savero’s turn in the second match.

Both teams enter the season with championship pedigree. Aurora Gaming recently claimed the M7 World Championship, while Team Liquid Philippines won the MLBB Mid Season Cup at the Esports World Cup 2025, setting the stage for a thrilling start to the season.

Beyond the competition, MPL PH Season 17 is also expanding its fan engagement efforts.

The league welcomes Fairrie, a Gen-Z jewelry and watch brand, as a new partner—marking the first time MPL PH has collaborated with an international jewelry brand. Fairrie previously gained recognition for crafting championship rings for the M6 World Championship.

Fans attending the matches can also look forward to the return of the MPL Playground, an interactive fan zone featuring activities from brand partners and community tournaments such as Infinix FANSIKLABAN.

Meanwhile, the Smart Battle Trips program continues its mission of introducing students to the esports industry through seminars and behind-the-scenes learning opportunities covering broadcasting, journalism, event management, and content creation.

With returning partners such as TT Racing and Clear also supporting the league, Season 17 promises to deliver a bigger live experience both inside and outside the arena.

As Mobile Legends celebrates a decade of competition, MPL Philippines Season 17 stands as a reminder of how far the scene has come. And how much further it can go.
