Major Ruleset Update Just Three Weeks Before CWL Vegas

Amanda Zelauskas

Treyarch and the CWL have decided to update the ruleset three weeks before the first Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 event of the year. The new ruleset, version 1.2, released after the developer added a new CWL Custom Game feature into online multiplayer. The new mode allowed players to play strictly on the CWL ruleset, including map pools, weapon bans, specialist bans, and more.

Less then three weeks before CWL Las Vegas, Treyarch and the CWL have decided to alter the rules for the upcoming season.

Less then three weeks before CWL Las Vegas, Treyarch and the CWL have decided to alter the rules for the upcoming season.

Since the CWL mode has been implemented, Treyarch has decided to make several changes to the ruleset including map pools for all three modes. Some competitive players have complained about the ruleset being too extensive, but now the list is even longer.

The Hardpoint map pool has changed as Contraband, Slums, and Summit have been removed. As for Search and Destroy, Firing Range and Seaside have been pulled from the rotation. Control’s map pool has been reduced to four as Jungle and Payload were yanked from the rotation.

The only specialist change that was implemented was that Torque was removed from the ban list, and is now allowed within competitive play. That leaves only one specialist to be banned, the Nomad. Equipment changes were added, as the sensor dart is no longer restricted. The only equipment to be banned is the Tac-Deploy during Hardpoint and Search and Destroy.
