













The Uzi Cup has been officially announced today. The tournament, organized by the Hall of Legends inductee Jian “Uzi” Zihao, will see teams fight for a major share of the 1 million RMB (~€126,000) prize pool.
The tournament, which kicks off on March 23, will feature a total of six teams. Five of the squads and will be invited teams that will take part in the player draft and replacement selection process. The sixth team, instead, will be determined through an open qualifier, with the top four players from the qualifier also joining the draft pool.
According to the team requirements, players can form teams freely, but all team members must be adults, and the team’s average age must be over 24 years old. Applications will be evaluated based on in-game rank, personal experience, and influence. Moreover, at least one member of each team is required to post a text/image post or video on Douyin with the hashtag #Uzi杯报名 (Uzi Cup sign up) and submit a screenshot through the official link.

Uzi had previously teased his own tournament on stream, explaining that the competition would take place after the end of the LPL Split 1 Playoffs: “Everyone is welcome to sign up. I’ll pay out of my own pocket. The prize pool will be quite large, and there won’t be many teams. If I can win the prize myself, that would be great, but I’m worried that very strong teams might register.” The Chinese ADC legend also hinted the fact that he will be taking part in the tournament, although the details on the draft process have yet to be revealed.
