TL Yeon: “We were wondering if Crisp made any difference from Meiko”

TL Yeon & UmTi – First Stand Press Conference, Day 2

After these initial matches, what do you think about TL’s adaptation to First Stand?

Yeon: To be honest, I think we did not adjust very fast at the start, but I think as the tournament went on and more days went on, we definitely adjusted and I do think we have a solid game plan on what we want to do. I think we have a more solid idea of how we want to play more than we did in the previous international events.

You said you want to play against Kanavi. How do you feel about playing against him today?

UmTi: Kanavi does keep up a really good tempo and he has a really good idea of when his turn is. I already knew how good he is at teamfighting and I can definitely tell how good he is now. I think he has a very good belief and faith in himself and his decisions, and he has high confidence. So right now I’m just pretty upset that I lost against him.

Now that you face off against him in your best individual performance year yet, is Jackeylove still your father? You did pretty well today, so maybe he’s just an older brother now?

Yeon: Hello Father [giggles], is that ‘abuji’ (father in Korean)? To be honest, I think for like the past like every international I meet him, I think Jackeylove’s very good. It’s very hard to, like strictly beat. I would say I definitely did better than I did last time around, especially considering the mess I had at MSI, but he’s still very good.

With your gank in game one, it intensified the flow of the game, but you were defeated in the end. So what is your regret as a team against TES?

UmTi: I think I was really regretful about the team fighting. I think we could have done a lot better, but I personally think that I could have shotcalled a little better to lead our team into a better teamfight. But I feel like I ended up doing something mostly just like watching them play with my eyes. So I think that’s what I’m very regretful about. I could tell that just by looking at the map, the enemy always had a faster tempo, so I think I’m very regretful about that one.

Hotspawn’s question to Yeon: You previously mentioned that you and Core JJ’s strong laning phase as one of your main strengths. What was your impression of TES’ bot lane and was there anything that caught your eye from their laning phase?

Yeon: To be honest, me and Core [CoreJJ] are very good, strong bot lane duo, especially in the laning phase. I think we knew that they’re very solid. We were wondering if Crisp made any difference from Meiko in their laning phase, but I would say their laning phase is pretty much the same. I think they’re still very solid, very good.

After a tough 2-0 loss against TES, what are the key takeaways for TL heading into the crucial matches against Hanwha Life and CFO?

UmTi: Probably teamfight and I think we should take away the teamfight that as an individual on how we want to play, how can we play better individually and thinking about our team plan better. I think that’s all.
