After the series against G2 Esports in the second week of the LEC Spring Split 2026, we caught up with Team Heretics top laner Sebastian “Tracyn” Wojtoń to hear how the team has been doing with the new support Han “Way” Gil and how TH plans to get into playoffs.
Davide: You guys came into the match as the underdogs.
Tracyn: We played with confidence, I think, which we could see in game one. At least from the player’s point of view, it was in some way competitive. So I think that’s good.
I’m happy [with] how we fought the dragon setups. We didn’t do well in terms of matching the strong side. When they killed Mel and then Sejuani and then got top tower, since I tipped bot earlier before the play, they also got the Nash and the game kinda boomed. In that regard, I think it’s hard to match G2 in terms of side laning.
So you need to beat them teamfight-wise, which we did quite well in the first game. [In the] second game, it was just hard. After we swapped, I think we ended up in a good lane assignment where I matched the Akali and she had a hard time laning against me. And we sent Viktor into Poppy, who had zero MR, so we should be winning on both sides. And we actually did. I feel like they were unhappy with it and they didn’t really know how to fix it.
But then they found a good pick on bot lane and the game exploded again because they got T2 (second turret) bot with [Rift] Herald. And then Poppy becomes unkillable after a mid laning phase in which I did quite good. I think the second game, I’m happy about it. But yeah, I mean that’s life.
Couldn't break the G2 Curse, but at least we put up a fight 🥹

Tracyn: Completely not. They were hovering Gwen, and I was like for sure not. But then I see Olaf and I was like ‘Okay, this, this might make sense, you know’. And they like the Olaf. I think it’s quite a good pick into our champions. I think no one really can stop him since we have. We had Viktor Varus and Alistar trio. So I think it’s quite a good pick, also, it’s a flex in a way. Right. So yeah, it’s a really good adaptation by them. It was not expected at all.
Davide: You had a new support coming in with Way joining.
Tracyn: I mean, for now, he’s still adapting, I would say. We are not the best at communication still, since language barrier still exists. But he’s getting better at it. So I would say right now it’s the adaptation phase. We started the split quite early just to make him feel comfortable on stage, so he can adapt to the language and everything that’s happening around him. So I think we will for sure scale good into the split. Maybe those last two losses that we’ve had weren’t the best, but we matched quite strong opponents.
Both Vitality and G2 are gonna be top four this spring split. So I wouldn’t be too worried. We need to give him more time to adapt and I think we can check the results at the end of the split and see if it was a good decision or not. But we for sure needed something, something new, you know, it just clearly wasn’t working in the first split.
Tracyn: I think I adapted quite well to the stage. I really like playing there. It feels good to see the audience and how they react. The aura around the studio and everything, it just feels different. So I really like it so far and I think I didn’t have many issues with stress or anything like that. So I’m like really hyped to play anytime I can. So far, [it’s] really positive and I hope I can keep going fair.

Davide: You mentioned going against some of the stronger teams. Moving forward, you’re going to face GX and then NAVI and KC as well. These three teams look quite tough on paper.
Tracyn: GX only played one series, right? I mean, Fnatic didn’t really show so much, but GX is a team that I would say, in my opinion, [are] the gatekeepers. Beating them is really important in playoff contention. I don’t think they are anything special. They are just okay. I think they are too weak to go top 4, but let’s say too strong to go top eight. So this will be [a] really important match for us.
And last split, we beat them. But it’s BO1 and this split, if we played BO1, SK would already be 3-0. So it’s hard to judge. Based on practice against them and overall how they play, I think this could be like a really even match. And it will be really important both for us and them to see who is going to make playoffs. About [the] other teams, KC is obviously really strong, very strong individual players. And so far, they also looked good. They faced Vitality that we faced as well. We got cooked by them a bit, and they won. The games we were quite close, but I think the individual class is really high, and there’s gonna be a tough match, but we will for sure fight.
I put NAVI in the same bracket as GX. I would say they are quite [at a] similar level. So this would be a really important match for us in terms of playoff. Playoff spots. We’ll need to focus on these two mostly and see what happens. But I think these two matches will be both important and also close.
Davide: Considering this is your first year in the LEC,
Tracyn: Right now, I feel quite confident in my skill on lane and the matchups that I know. My weakness right now… Actually, I cannot leak my weakness (laughs). But so far, I’m quite satisfied with how I play lane. It’s just hard to transfer some of those leads into mid to late game. So I’m working on that.
But overall, I would like to put myself in a spot where people respect going against me… That it’s hard to play in terms of draft and laning. I think laning is quite important, as we can see. You can make a lot of difference there, either bot lane, top lane. In both lanes, you can snowball hard. So I would like to get on a high, really high level in terms of laning phase.
And I think it’s possible because from the players we have here, for sure, the outstanding one is Naak Nako, but I don’t think it’s a knowledge difference. He’s just really good in terms of clicks and he’s just better than the others, even people like Canna. His clicks are just better, so it’s harder to play against him. But other people are reachable, so I’m aiming to be strong there and see. Obviously, having a good team result would help. But yeah, sometimes it’s hard, but we will work hard and try to prove that we can achieve something great.

Davide: We’ve seen that you kind of default to Sion-K’Sante, these kinds of tank picks that work in terms of stabilizing, neutralizing the laning phase, they have a lot of value in teamfights, but they don’t have as much agency like Ambessa or other carry top laners.
Tracyn: Yeah, I mean, exactly. I remember, I had one game against SK this split, I completely fisted [the] laning phase. I was like 2k [gold] in 15. And then when it came to teamfight, it’s all team stuff. We reviewed it already, but you know, if we don’t click together well as a unit, then it’s hard. And even though I’m ahead, it’s a team game.
So my opponent was able to do lots of things in teamfights as well. Laning phase is not everything. But yeah, top lane right now is quite an island. I would say sometimes you can look for those ganks. I think this series, actually, I got ganked two times after full clear and scuttle [crab] by the enemy jungler, which was annoying, but I mean, they had good spots to do it. So they burned my flash two times. But besides that, you will spectate and you can start joining maybe [the] second, third drake. You know, that’s a moment when you can have influence in the game. And this is how it looks.
Davide: Before I let you go, I have one last question. So you mentioned in a previous interview with Sheep Esports that you love playing games ever since you were very young. Aside from league, you also said you played a lot of FIFA. I’m not sure how much, but I would assume that you watch football.
Tracyn: Yeah, a bit, yeah.
Tracyn: Oh, oh, football player. I mean, most of the people would probably choose between Messi and Ronaldo, but I think I would choose Neymar. Low key. It was my goat from a young age, when I was watching Barcelona. I would say Neymar because he’s a mix of talent plus work plus, I would say, some laziness, but in a way that it’s just flawless, in his peak. So yeah, that’s it from me.

Davide: Gotcha. I would’ve expected something like Lewandowski, considering he’s Polish, but I’m down with that answer.
Tracyn: I cannot think about it right now since we got knocked out of [the] World Cup. The referee was a bit questionable. Our match was like completely… I’m not going to say it, but the ref should get checked for sure (joking).
Davide: Unfortunately, time is up. Maybe we’ll talk about football next time. Thank you a lot, Tracyn and good luck for the match on Monday.
