With the Mid-Season Invitational coming to an end, the LoL teams won’t have much rest as they will be flying to Riyadh for the EWC League of Legends tournament.

Aside from the 10 teams that took part in the second international tournament of the LoL Esports calendar, there will be two additional teams joining the action. Here’s why you should pay attention to the two squads.
HLE missed out on back-to-back international appearances by losing the qualification series against T1 in the Road to MSI. That being said, the LCK #3 seed will have the chance for payback at the EWC.
In a meta dictated by heavy teamfighting and strong macro, HLE will be a front-runner team at the tournament. If the team is able to find the jungle-mid duo of Peanut and Zeka in strong form, they can become a serious title contender. They had more time to rest and prepare for the tournament, and the on-stage games at MSI should also help them with the preparation, considering teams will play in the same patch 25.13.
While Cloud9 is not likely going to be a title contender, the recent playoff final against FlyQuest showed that the team had the potential to fight at MSI, if the LTA North had two slots available. With how FlyQuest has been performing in Vancouver, there are chances Cloud9 could’ve kept a similar level and fought with both the LCP and LEC teams.

The team has a balanced identity with several players able to take up a carry role in the game, something we’ve seen is essential in the modern era of Fearless Draft. They will now have the chance to prove their worth at the EWC LoL tournament, with several weeks of time to fully prepare, unlike the other squads busy with MSI.
