HellRaisers Return to Dota with a New Lineup

Michael Hassall

CIS esports organization and International 2017 competitors HellRaisers have today announced their return to professional Dota 2, with the reveal of their new lineup. The news was previously hinted at by CEO Alex Slabukhin in a brief tweet before a followup post on the team’s Twitter and official website.

HellRaisers made their entrance into the Dota 2 scene in 2014, with the Ukrainian based team competed primarily in the CIS and Europe. The organization had some initial success, scoring first-place finishes at several Minors and performing well at a number of Majors. The team froze ’sit’s Dota 2 operation in March 2016 after a string of poor results, which came in spite of significant investment from the team’s owners.

HellRaisers briefly returned with a new lineup in 2017 after acquiring the roster of Planet Dog, who’d recently qualified for The International. However, the partnership was short-lived, with the players and organization parting ways in December, after finishing the event in last place.

The roster announced today features at least one returning player from those previous lineups, with former position one carry Ilya “ALOHADANCE” Korobkin taking on a new role as one of the team’s support players. He’s joined by fellow Ukrainian Alik “V-Tune” Vorobey, a carry player on rental from Aachen City Esports. Rounding out the lineup is Alexander “Nix” Levin, formerly of ESPADA, Dmitry “DM” Dorokhin, formerly of Aachen City Esports, and Yaroslav “Miposhka” Naidenov, who most recently competed for Team Singularity.

Commenting on the new lineup, Slabukhin reiterated his team’s commitment to Dota 2 “As promised, here comes our long-awaited return to Dota 2! We’reWe’re glad to see both our old friends (hey, Aloha) and new ones! Our first games will begin tomorrow in the WePlay Play-offs. Now it’s time to cheer for HR in Dota 2, too!”

HellRaisers as a whole has been undergoing a resurgence in its esports presence, having last week announced the signing of a brand new CS:GO roster. Full details on both of the new lineups as well as additional information is available on HellRaisers official website.
