But why these two and why are they some of the most hated skins we’ve seen added?

For April Fools Day, Epic pushed out a fun Fortnite update. We got big head mode in Battle Royale. Plus, riding on each other’s shoulders and Llamas. But the item shop update is one players have been discussing or a little while. A Triple T Fortnite skin has been rumoured for a long time. Then, that skin and one of Ballerina Cappuccina were featured in the C7 S2 launch trailer. Now they’re in the game proper.

it gets a bit complicated with these two. It isn’t like older meme skins they’ve added. Which for some people rank as some of the best outfits. Instead, it’s AI skins.

These two characters were made by generative AI. While Epic has humans designing the skins themselves, they’re pulling from AI invented characters. And then for some reason paying royalties to some random company. This will probably make the Fortnite brainrot skins a target or a lot of the player base.

The item shop has these skins, but how many people are actually buying them? According to the Fortnite GG, where you rank skins, it has had a strong reaction.

On this site, players have already ranked Ballerina Cappuccina dead last. With a ridiculously negative response from players. The other skins this low include Derby Dominator, and a ton of the Harry Potter Fortnite collab skins. Basically, a list of the least popular skins to ever get added to Fortnite.

The Triple T skin on the other hand is ranked 2578th. So not quite Dead Last, it’s above a ton of skins like Metal Armor Lady Gaga. However, still very low. Even the Skibbidi Toilet skins are more popular.

From the reaction, it seems most of the player base hasn’t been too excited about the Fortnite brainrot skins. However, ultimately all that will matter to Epic is sales. If these skins are a big enough meme for players to buy them, we’ll probably get even more AI slop in the game.

Right now, they’re still designing skins by humans though. Not allowing AI to make them instead. Even with the Fortnite layoffs. Hopefully, even the stupidest skins to come to Fortnite are still designed by people.
