How to Open Vault in New Sanctuary Fortnite

One of the biggest mysteries in the game right now is how to open vault in New Sanctuary Fortnite. It’s part of a brand-new POI on the map. With a vault that’s tantalisingly close to players, but right now still locked up. It’s part of a bigger trend in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2 though. Where a ton of the most exciting content is still locked behind future updates.

We have seen some of the gradual content unlocked already. The most recent week has the new heal item Fortnite update and the Seven Cannon unvaulted. Although, some of the most exciting content is still coming soon.

When the game launched this season, we got a batch of new Fortnite weapons, but a ton of content is just upcoming. The new season’s full drop of features in being spread over a few months instead of coming all at once. Instead, it’s updates gradually adding more content. This has meant a lot of the fun looking items in the trailer just aren’t in the game yet. However, it also means the map has features which are a little confusing. Like the Fortnite New Sanctuary Vault.

It’s something which players have been trying to open since the season began. This is what we know about it so far.

How to Open Vault in New Sanctuary Fortnite Eventually

Right now, we can’t open the Fortnite New Sanctuary Vault. Players will have to wait. But once it does open up, how can players get access? It seems you’ll need to collect a key card item. just like the vaults in older Fortnite seasons before they got phased out. It’ll likely drop from the POI or a boss in that location.

The current model for releasing this stuff seems to be following the pattern of Chapter 6 Season 2. Where the Black Market locations were there from when the season began, but a lot of its content locked out.

In that season, the loot pool became more overpowered and ridiculous as we moved through the weeks. By mid-season, these locations let you instantly get the best weapons in the game. We can probably expect something similar to happen this season. The Fortnite New Sanctuary Vault is going to be similarly useful this season, even if players can get exotics just by heading to a Rivalry terminal.

The Rivalry feature at the moment will factor in this too. it seems this vault will be mainly accessible to people who choose a particular side in the current Rivalry feature. We’ll have to wait and see just how to open vault in New Sanctuary Fortnite once the update actually arrives. It could be a little while until it unlocks. it just depends on how well players perform in the Rivalry quests.

Key Cards in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2

This season there’s going to be more than 1 vault in the game. We’re expecting quite a few to open up, but only one is accessible right now. There is a key card which you can currently get by going to a mythic fishing spot near the lighthouse. Then using it to get into a special room. However, this isn’t the way to get into the Fortnite New Sanctuary Vault.

That key card is a particularly convoluted way to get into a vault. Kinda like the Mythics dropping this season. You have to jump through hoops like finding completely random bosses and doing a secret race to get them. The key card in the game already isn’t advertised and is partially random.

Instead, we have to wait until the Showdown rivalries go far enough to get a look in the Fortnite New Sanctuary Vault. Right now, we’ve seen both teams unlock their first milestone. Team Ice King has quickly unlocked its second too with the Slapparoni Pizza unlocking already. Both teams have new Key Cards unlocking later in the season. Just like some of the Fortnite weapons we’re still waiting for. It would make the most sense for the Foundation’s team’s card to open this vault though.

The Foundation team is behind. Epic has applied a multiplier to this team’s performance to even things out. So for everything the Foundation team members do, it counts for 1.33x of what the Ice King team do. This will mean it’s a slightly closer race and we should at least unlock all the content even with the vast majority of players choosing one side over the other.

We’ll have to wait for teams to play through these stages until we get content like the Fortnite New Sanctuary Vault. In a few weeks, the content in the new season will be a bit more fleshed out with these areas unlocking for all players.
