Is There a Fortnite Superman Event Coming?

Is there a Fortnite Superman event coming? Since we’re in the break without a Fortnite update, players have gotten a little restless. The bonus skin is coming out soon and we’re seeing some getting hyped up for an apparent Fortnite Superman live event. Specifically, we’re been seeing streamers using clickbait adverts for a Fortnite Superman live event countdown, claiming to be counting down the hours. But is there any indication an actual event is coming?

We know the Fortnite Superman skin releases soon. But a live event is a different story. There doesn’t seem to be much evidence that a big live event is coming anytime soon.

The Superman skin is this season’s “bonus skin”. No longer much of a secret, this skin has been available early for those who pay. The secondary animated style along with the wider release will be coming when Fortnite updates return after the break. But it doesn’t seem like there’s going to be a Fortnite Superman event to go with it.

Is There Going to be a Fortnite Superman Event?

Despite the clickbait, there probably isn’t a Fortnite Superman event planned. We usually get live events at the end of the season, or mid-way through to set-up some lore for the end of the season. But we don’t really get live events for the release of a bonus skin. We’re expecting the skin to arrive along with a new POI. But a lore event probably isn’t coming.

If you’re seeing countdowns out there now, it’s to the skin release. Not for a Fortnite Superman live event. Some people are just taking the known Fortnite Superman release date and using it as a countdown for a fictional live event. As we get closer to the end of the season, we might see an actual live event come up though.

Another factor working against the Fortnite Superman Live Event is Epic’s break. They’re away for the summer. The current Fortnite update has nothing in the files to indicate an event is coming, and we won’t get much new content until the summer break is over. So, there isn’t really enough time to fit a Fortnite Superman event in and get it in the game in time.

Fortnite Superman Release Date for Skin

There might not be an event, but we do know a Fortnite Superman skin is coming very soon! The bonus skin is scheduled to release on July 11th for all Battle Pass holders.

It was previously released early with the Battle Bundle. However, on this date it’ll come out for everyone. Including a secondary skin will be a pen and ink style. Along with the other cosmetics to fill out your locker slot.

This Fortnite update will likely make another change to the game though. We’re expecting a Fortnite POI to be added, the Fortress of Solitude. This spot apparently won’t feature a Mythic or boss. It’ll just be a standard POI, and probably one made mainly of ice! It’s unlikely to shatter the Fortnite meta for the season with some spots providing a much better start.
Once the skin unlocks, we’ll also get our final answer to the Fortnite Superman event. But even a week before, it does look very unlikely that a live event is coming.
