A popular mode is making a comeback soon, with Fortnite Endgame returning to the game. This is going to be an LTM that players will remember from an early Fortnite season. It’s one of the first major crossovers the game had. But with unique weapons that have been missed by the player base. Like other parts of OG, we thought it was gone forever. However, it’s about to make a comeback.
This weekend, Epic announced some early information about Fortnite Season 8 returning to OG. That’s included a little peak at some of the skins, with new styles coming to the game’s OG pass. Plus, the schedule for when content will drop like the Baller update which is coming further down the line. While it does recreate the original season, these timing changes keep things fresh.
There is one other major thing coming with OG Season 8 though. It’s an LTM that’s returning. Back in Chapter 1 Fortnite’s ecosystem looked very different. Endgame was a mode which marked a turning point for Fortnite. If you’ve ever been curious about how it played, then this is what you need to know.
The Fortnite Endgame mode is going to be coming back to the game! This LTM has been teased by Epic this week. Alongside unveiling other details of the Season 8 Fortnite OG update, we’ve gotten confirmation that this mode is coming back.

Fortnite Endgame is a Marvel based mode which was active back in 2019. To coincide with a new Marvel movie, this mode featured content inspired by the films and comic books. The Endgame mode is coming back to the game next week.
The tweet announcing the mode coming back confirmed that April 3rd will be the release date for the mode. it’s under the banner of Fortnite OG. But we can expect it to be another standalone game mode while it’s in the game. Lately, Epic has even been including Ranked modes for LTMs. But this might just a single playlist. We don’t have confirmation if a Zero Builds mode will be added yet either.
Since other OG modes have included Zero Builds it’s likely to be here too. With a combat system based around superhero items, Zero Build can be fun for modes like this. Fortnite Endgame will be a nice return, but what can we expect from it?
The LTM is making a return in Fortnite OG S8, but why is it such a big deal? if you’re a modern Fortnite player, the idea of a Marvel crossover probably isn’t super exciting. they get new Marvel skins all the time.
We’ve had multiple Marvel seasons, with entirely Marvel loot, skins, and POIs. They’ve pretty much used up every recognizable character and had to start releasing second or third versions of a character. But back in Chapter 1 it was a bit different.

When Fortnite collabs began, no one could have known where the game was going. Fortnite Endgame was an early sign of that. Where Epic was having whole sections of the game turn into a crossover. Endgame was the second one for Avengers. Coming after the initial Thanos boss transformation. In this mode, players fought Thanos using specific Fortnite Marvel items.
The Fortnite Endgame mode was a popular departure. Back then, Fortnite didn’t have a whole history of super hero items. The Thanos transformation had already proved popular too. Endgame let plays play through this style of content in a dedicated mode.
LTMs aren’t really in use from Epic that often now. But back in Chapter 1 they were regular. Players could play LTMs with a different rule set that adapted Battle Royale. Like Solid Gold, with only gold loot. Fortnite Endgame is one of the more memorable ones, and we didn’t expect it to return.
Licenced content like this is only set up for an initial release. But as we’re seeing with Fortnite Endgame coming back, Epic can make plans to bring something back to the game. The Fortnite mode will be available on April 3rd, so early in Season 8 of FN OG. This could be available for a limited time, or till the Fortnite season end date for OG.
Now there’s a ton of Marvel items in the game, we could see them added into Fortnite Endgame when it makes a comeback. Although, since it’s going under the Fortnite OG branding it might just be a recreation. Everything in OG has been a one-to-one remake, so it could just be the older content in the game instead of anything from more recent seasons.
