When is Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2 coming out? The next season has seen some major delays so far. But it’s nearly, finally, over. The third longest season in Fortnite’s history.

The answer to when does the new season of Fortnite come out might have changes over 2026, but we’ve had plenty of early announcements to make up for that. Fortnite has been teasing and releasing information pretty much non-stop over the last few weeks. Including in collab trailers, which were shot on next season’s map to align with the original release date and not updated with the Fortnite season end date delay. Not to mention the Battle Pass getting an early reveal over the last few days. But when is the new season of Fortnite?

This is when we’re expecting the crossover to happen. The date and time that the new season of Fortnite is coming out and will go live in the game.

When is Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2 Coming Out?

The Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2 release date is March 19th, Thursday. The exact time is always a little trickier though.

While Fortnite Chapters start up in the middle of the day when everyone can play, the time release for new Fortnite seasons is trickier. This usually happens in the night for most of the Fortnite player base. Releasing during the downtime in the early hours of the morning.

We can expect it to happen at 4 AM ET going by normal release times. That’s 8 AM GMT, or 9 AM ET. It’ll be early or a lot of the world, but you can explore the new season on Thursday. That’s the scheduled time for the update, but sometimes downtime goes a little longer. So keep an eye on things to see when the season is actually live for you again.

That’s when the countdown to the new season ends in-game. Although, the countdown is for the update getting pushed out. Not for the game coming back online with its new patch. If you want the exact hour of Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2 coming out, the patches can sometimes take an hour or so.

The Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2 release date will move us on to a whole new season. But we’re not expecting a map change, or huge new mechanic. There are some clear alterations to the game that have been announced though.

What’s Changing When Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2 Comes Out?

The next Fortnite season will feature all the normal seasonal refreshes, like a few fresh Fortnite weapons, completely new Battle Pass, and changes to the map. However, we are expecting a bigger seasonal change. after the backlash for this season, it should be a full refresh.

Weapons

One area that’s been a bit back and forth with early information is what weapons will be in the game when Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2 comes out. It’s been leaked for a while that Epic is replacing most of the current weaponry. Although, in a recent trailer for the next season on mobile, the same weapons were still here.

It’s possible this was from an earlier build however. Something we’ve seen a lot of this season is mix-ups from the season end date getting delayed. With content prepared far in advance for a planned released during the next season, despite it being delayed. We’ve seen this in trailers so far with new POIs, and now with the original weapons in next season.

It’s possible this trailer is from before the delay and all the changes to the season. With Fortnite Chapter 7 Season coming out soon, we’ll know for sure which weapons made the cut.

New Battle Pass

One area which has been completely unveiled early is the Chapter 7 Season 2 Battle Pass. Players can see all of the skins in the early released promo art. Including a strangely proportioned Bugs Bunny! Plus, a notoriously expensive actor right after Epic put V-Buck prices up because of costs.

We’ve also had full confirmation that a bIg chungus skin isn’t coming. So no meme skin it looks like.

POIs

The map for this season will be getting some major changes too. We’ve seen the Polar Peak POI completely unveiled early. Plus, some smaller areas on the map which are linked to the developments we’ve seen in Fortnite lore recently. The map is sticking around for this season though, it’ll just be changes to POIs and some spots.

Showdown

The big Fortnite season theme for C7 S2 is Showdown. This theme will supposedly tie into the game with a leaderboard function where players go head-to-head. It’ll one of the more abstract themes for a season to have. Since all seasons of BR are a showdown between players. But we’ll have to see if there’s any extra tie in with the Fortnite gameplay once we reach the date with Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2 coming out.
