This weekend’s Fortnite action has been a mess. Now, just an hour away from the Grand Finals actually starting they’ve decided to disqualify Bugha and Kreaz along with Tragic and Percnt. It’s another last-minute change in what’s been an incredibly chaotic tournament.

Bugha Disqualified from FNCS NAC Hour Before it Starts

We’ve already seen Day 1 of EU play out, with Scroll leading the FNCS Major 1 results. A ton of bigger Fortnite players failed to make the finals in that lobby. However, we’ve seen even more kicked out at the last minute for utilizing a piece of software which is now classed as a cheat. This has seen Bugha disqualified from FNCS, just an hour before it starts.

Update – Epic Makes it Even Worse

Just a short while after this, Epic has made it even worse.

They hopped on Twitter to take back all the dis-qualifications. But insisted they aren’t restarting FNCS, and everyone just has to put up with it. They lost their slots for no reason now… and Epic is rubbing salt into the wound on Twitter, telling them to play Reload.

In a season that’s included some insane things from Epic. Layoffs, games shutting down, it feels like Epic is deliberately trashing their own game at every turn. Now they’re bringing that rage bait energy over to FNCS too. They ruined the season’s biggest tournament but don’t worry, there’s a Reload tournament next week.

After a wave of bans the day before the finals began, we’ve seen another two teams kicked from the FNCS Grand Finals. Including former Fortnite World Cup winner Bugha. He still tops the list of highest-earning Fortnite pros. And despite years of being called Washed, has incredibly attendance at finals proving a real longevity. Last season he missed finals thanks to a matchmaking bug, this time it’s down to some software.

A piece of software which gave players perfect bus drop routes and counted Surge has been re-classified as cheating software, or at least a third-party software unallowed. It’s an advantage that most teams at this level get from their coaches anyway, but doing it through a piece of software that interacts with Fortnite’s files is a no.

It seems every player from a major coach has been disqualified. Bugha originally made it under the wire. But after backlash about favoritism he has now been kicked out. Pros are all over Twitter accusing everyone else of using the software. So, it’s becoming difficult to really know who used it and how widespread it is. The lobbies are full of teams getting here by deault, not achievement. Not great with this as the only tournament deciding who makes it to the LAN next month.

This is coming after the FNCS Heats saw a ton of problems. Error after error causing multiple games to get re-ran. Hopefully, the finals play out a bit smoother from here. It’s been a chaotic weekend for pros though. With some now getting promoted to the lobby at the last minute, left to play on high ping from wherever they happen to be.
