That huge figure will immediately launch the winner into the top ten esports earners, breaking into the Dota 2-dominated list. Epic is also guaranteeing at least $50,000 to each of the top 100 Solo competitors and each member of the 50 Duos teams that will compete.

The World Cup Finals will take place in New York City from July 26-28. There will be ten weekly Online Open qualifiers leading up to the event, with $1,000,000 on the line. Yes, that’s $1,000,000 every week for ten weeks. Epic is committed to hitting their pledge of $100,000,000 in prize money for Fortnite players this year.

There are going to be additional $1,000,000 tournaments weekly through the end of 2019, featuring a broader variety of modes and formats to better reward and test the competitive playing field.

As long as you’re eligible to compete, Epic has promised plenty of opportunities to get a fistful of the prize money. Details about the weekly qualifiers, which will run April 13 – June 16, will be coming soon. Keep your eyes peeled and log those practice hours!
