Zakaria Almughrabi

PGL Major Antwerp, the first Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Major of 2022, is fast approaching. CS:GO’s most prestigious tournament will feature 24 teams from around the world. They will be split into three groups as always, Contenders, Challengers, and Legends. Teams will qualify for each of these groups based on their Regional Major Rankings (RMR) placement.

CS:GO Major qualification works by having each region play RMR events to earn placement at the Major. Teams with the highest placement per region will get Legend and Challenger spots, while the lower finishers will be Contenders. These RMR events start on April 11 with every qualified team being decided by April 24.

When is PGL Major Antwerp?

PGL Major Antwerp begins on May 9. The Challengers Stage will last four days until May 12. Here, the eight Contenders and eight Challengers will be cut to just eight teams total using a Swiss format. These teams will join up with the eight Legends qualifiers and move on to the Legends Stage from May 14 to May 17. After another Swiss stage, the top eight teams will be decided. The PGL Major finalists will then move on to the Champions Stage from May 19 to May 22.
