ENCE Unveil New CS:GO Roster for 2021

Scott Robertson

It’s all too EZ for ENCE to hit the reset button on their CS:GO roster, but according to the organization’s January 21st press release, the decision was actually quite difficult. ENCE have retained their tenured AWPer in Aleksi “allu” Jalli as well as rifler Joonas “doto” Forss. However the team is following the popular trend now a days of going with an international flavor to their roster, rather than keeping it strictly Finnish.

Marco “Snappi” Pfeiffer, Paweł “dycha” Dycha, and Lotan “Spinx” Giladi join the ENCE roster for the 2021 campaign. Both Tuomas “SADDYX” Louhimaa and Elias “Jamppi” Olkkonen have both been moved to the bench, joining both Miikka “suNny” Kemppi and Jere “sergej” Salo. Both suNny and sergej were critical of Allu as a teammate and leader in recent months, and ENCE acknowledged that Allu had some mistakes to atone for going forward. However, the team also made an attempt to deflect some of the blame away from their long-time sniper:

“Putting all the responsibility on one individual’s shoulders is not acceptable…Even if it is true that there has been tension between the players in the team, the allegations made towards allu on social media and singling him out as the sole reason for them, are very far from the truth. It is easy to start pointing fingers at someone, but there are multiple people responsible in a team for the choices and the working conditions.”

While allu remains with the team, he is handing over the in-game leading reins to Snappi, an established Danish veteran in Counter-Strike who’s well-experienced at the position. Dycha joins the roster after spending the past year with Sprout, while Snappi and Spinx both depart from C0ntact Gaming.

ENCE have been on a downhill slide since moving on from in-game leader Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen. suNny struggled to meet the ludicrously high expectations, and both him and sergej sought out a spot on the bench as conditions deteriorated. Additionally, the team lost their coach Slaava “Twista” Räsänen to a 15-month ban due to his involvement in the coach spectating bug scandal.

The new roster is expected to make their debut at ESL Pro League Season 13 in March.
