Thunderpick World Championship 2025 South America Series 1

The Thunderpick World Championship 2025 is set to take place in October this year, with the event set to return for its third iteration. Previous winners include FaZe Clan and The MongolZ, showcasing the level of quality the event attracts. Some of the teams will be decided by a series of regional qualifiers, one of which is the Thunderpick World Championship 2025 South America Series 1. From June 27th to July 2nd, some of the best CS2 teams South America has to offer will compete for a spot in the Closed Qualifiers for the main event.

Thunderpick World Championship 2025 South America Series 1 Tournament Format

Thunderpick World Championship 2025 South America Series 1 features a tournament format right in line with the rest of the worldwide qualifiers. In terms of the number of teams, it’s on the smaller side, with 12 attending in total, compared to the 24 found in the Europe Series 1 and 2. Regardless, the standard double-elimination Group Stage into single-elimination Playoffs should be familiar to any fan.

• Group Stage: Eight teams compete in two double-elimination Groups, with each Group featuring four teams. The top two teams from each Group progress to the Playoffs. All matches are best-of-three.
• Playoffs: A single-elimination bracket, starting with the Quarter-Finals. Four directly-invited teams face the four CS2 teams who qualified from the Group Stage, with the winner reaching the Thunderpick World Championship Closed Qualifiers. All matches are best-of-three.

All Thunderpick World Championship 2025 South America Series 1 Teams

Thunderpick has not yet confirmed which 12 teams will be taking to the server in the Thunderpick World Championship 2025 South America Series 1. The invites will be sent out based on the Valve Regional Standings on May 25th, after which point, the teams taking part in this CS2 tournament should be known. We’ll keep this page updated when the full team list is released.

Four of the invited teams will progress directly to the Playoffs of the Thunderpick World Championship 2025 South America Series 1. The remaining eight will head straight to the Group Stage. Two of the eight Group Stage teams will be wildcard invites from Thunderpick, rather than the Valve Regional Standings like the rest of them.

Thunderpick World Championship 2025 South America Series 1 Prize Pool Distribution

Teams are technically competing for their share of a $25,000 cash prize at the Thunderpick World Championship 2025 South America Series 1. $20,000 goes to the winner, while $5,000 is given to the runner-up. However, it’s the spot in the Thunderpick WC 2025 Closed Qualifiers that every team will be looking to take home above all else, with only one up for grabs.

For any team that doesn’t quite qualify from the Thunderpick World Championship 2025 South America Series 1, there will also be a second Series held in July, meaning some will have another chance at making the Closed Qualifiers.
