If you’re still a genuine believer in this MOUZ roster point, I have to admire your dedication. Or delusion; it’s a very thin line. A limp IEM Rio 2026 Quarter-Finals defeat at the hands of Spirit was another nail in the coffin for a roster that is sleepwalking to changes after the Cologne Major.

You could sense the direction this series was heading from the first half of Dust2. Spirit‘s 10 T side rounds put an end to the illusion of competitiveness, a 2.15-rated tN1R meaning donk was hardly required to fulfill his usual duties of carrying the fragging burden on his back. Crucially, this was a more comprehensive T side than we’ve seen from Spirit on Dust2 in a very long time, with well-put-together rounds that actually felt as though there was more to the call than the classic “donk go kill.”

At 10:2, the damage was done. Three T side rounds in return from MOUZ was nowhere near enough to mount a comeback, and Spirit closed it out 13:5. Five rounds flatter MOUZ – this was a pretty dismal showing that should concern anyone who wants to see this team go on to win the IEM Cologne Major 2026 in June.

The beating continued into MOUZ’s own pick of Mirage. This time, Spirit routed to a 9:3 half, with tN1R again topping the board in one of his best series for the team to date. Seven rounds in, only Jimpphat and xertioN had managed to actually get a kill on map two, with torzsi, Spinx, and Brollan all drawing a blank in the early stages. With numbers like that, you simply can’t win games of Counter-Strike.

Five consecutive rounds from MOUZ to start the second half got Spirit a little hot under the collar as the score reached 9:8. But what seemed to be signs of life from MOUZ actually proved to be the final spasms of a dead corpse of a team, as the rounds finally started flowing for Spirit en route to a 13:8 victory. donk, quiet in the series, was able to finally give us one of his classic rounds right at the death, reminding everyone what he’s capable of ahead of tomorrow’s Falcons clash.

Spirit typically do not fare well against Falcons, but on this evidence, and tN1R finally showing up, it could be a different story tomorrow.
