PGL Belgrade 2025 has moved to Bucharest, Romania, after the tournament organizer confirmed it had faced “unforeseen logistical challenges” in putting the event together. The change means PGL Belgrade 2025 will now be played at the PGL Studios, rather than in front of a crowd, with the announcement coming five months before the $1.25 million tournament was set to begin.

The switch from Belgrade to Bucharest marks the third tournament location switch for PGL in 2025. The Buenos Aires event announced last year would eventually become PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025, while PGL Krakow was canceled within hours of its announcement back in February.
This latest news is another setback for the tournament organizer, as well as a disappointment for fans who had hoped to see Tier 1 Counter-Strike return to Serbia. Despite previous setbacks, the PGL CS2 calendar has largely been a hit with fans, and hopefully it can continue to deliver with its second Bucharest event of the year.

As part of its announcement, PGL did confirm that “we look forward to returning [to Serbia] in the near future,” indicating that, while canceled for now, it isn’t done for good.
