Ayush “mzinho” Batbold has experience in Tier 1 Counter-Strike beyond his years. He’s a staple of The MongolZ, having been a part of the roster for almost three years.

It has been a period of upheaval for the team, having lost Senzu last year and brought in cobrazera as his replacement. With The MongolZ’s clash against Aurora in the Playoffs of BLAST Open Rotterdam 2026 just around the corner, we spoke to mzinho about the changes in the team, and how it has been playing without their coach for the time being!

mzinho: “If we like all six maps, if it’s good for us, we can go Anubis. But right now, I don’t think so”

Daniel Morris: mzinho, you guys have obviously been playing without maaRaa this event. What have been the big differences playing without your coach?

Ayush “mzinho” Batbold: All pressure was on IGL, bLitz, so he handled it very good and there was no time to relax. Just keep focusing.

Daniel: You guys haven’t been taking any timeouts in-game? Why have you been doing this and do you think that momentum helps?

mzinho: Yeah, I think so. It helps in-game, and our IGL was thinking very quick and there’s no need to take a timeout, yeah.

Daniel: You guys come into 2026 by bringing cobrazera into the team. What do you think the main differences are between his style of play and Senzu’s?

mzinho: I think now, when I’m dead and watch him on scrims, it’s kind of familiar with Senzu. Like Senzu and cobrazera are always searching for duels, and they both were good at that, so yeah, I think there’s no difference.

Daniel: Is he a different personality from Senzu?

mzinho: Yeah, it’s only a different personality but they were both very good friends with each other. So yeah, kinda the same.

Daniel: Coming into this year, you guys decided not to add Anubis into your map pool and made it your permaban instead? I’m curious, was there any point where you guys thought about maybe bringing Anubis in with the changes or did you just know straight away?

mzinho: We added one person, switching our players, so adding Anubis is kind of tough for us. Anubis had a lot of updates, like, new holes. We didn’t even play Anubis, just tried to focus on the first six maps. Then after, if we like all six maps, if it’s good for us, we can go Anubis. But right now, I don’t think so.

Daniel: Last time you played, we saw you destroy Spirit. 47 kills in two maps – what did you feel went right for you in this match?

mzinho: Oh, I just felt good. I was shooting very sharp and yeah, like, it’s time to do. It’s do or die, if we lose, we go home. But we wanted to make it to Rotterdam. So yeah, I was so happy that I stepped up.

Daniel: You face Aurora in the Quarter-Finals here at BLAST Rotterdam. Last time you faced them, you beat them 2:0 at ESL Pro League. What are you expecting them to change this time around?

mzinho: This time it will be on stage in front of many people. So yeah, it will be like the momentum game. So I don’t have any words.

Daniel: Obviously last year was pretty great for you guys and now you bring in a new player, the expectations change a little bit. What are you hoping to achieve for the rest of 2026?

mzinho: Until 2026? Maybe just a better result from 2025. That’s the main goal. Yeah.
