As most predicted, MOUZ have secured a spot in the BLAST Open Spring 2025 Grand Final, taking down Eternal Fire in what was a competitive but ultimately two-map affair. It’s yet another impressive performance from the team, who have well and truly buried the “stage chokers” narrative.
At this point, it’s fair to say that MOUZ’s ongoing success is no fluke. Time after time, they face formidable opposition, and rarely come unstuck. Things don’t get awkward – they just keep winning. Let’s discuss.
When Brollan first became MOUZ’s IGL, they won PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025 – a dream debut for the new captain. They followed this up with a Final loss to Vitality at ESL Pro League Season 21. There’s no shame in losing to the best CS2 team in the world in that one. Now, it’s another Grand Final at BLAST Open Spring 2025, marking three consecutive appearances for a team few had challenging for prizes when Brollan took over as captain.
Speaking to Hotspawn at BLAST Open Spring 2025, Brollan claimed that the early days have been “a lot of sacrificing” for him. It shows in the results.
Any suggestion that MOUZ are still in a honeymoon phase is silly. Teams have the tape on MOUZ at this point, so Brollan’s calling won’t come as a surprise to many. No. After three consecutive Final appearances, MOUZ’s wins are starting to feel like part of a sustained period of success.
Right now, Vitality are a different beast, and few would argue that they’re the best CS2 team in the world. Learning how to take them down is going to be essential from this point forward if they’re to turn their wins into trophies. As Brollan sinks his teeth further into the role, I have no doubt he can do it. This is coming from someone who thought MOUZ’s -siuhy move bordered on insanity, but Brollan and his team have convinced me with competency.
So, what exactly is contributing to MOUZ and their impressive record of late? For me, you don’t have to look much further than their team ratings since Spinx joined the lineup:
Brollan’s numbers are fairly standard for a good IGL, and besides that, they’re relatively consistent across the board. No single MOUZ player is having a torrid period – they’re all delivering in their roles. In the same vein, no one player is dropping donk-level 1.4 ratings consistently, because they simply don’t need to. At MOUZ, they pick up each other’s slack, leading to ratings where it’s clear every single player contributes. It’s evidently a winning formula in a scene where inconsistency is rampant across the top teams.

For sheer impact, I have to highlight torzsi. There was a point when it looked like he might not make it at the top level, but I don’t think many would argue with his place in the top 5 CS2 AWPers right now. Again, he’s not putting up donk numbers, but his impact round-to-round makes him an integral piece of this MOUZ team.
Can MOUZ win more trophies in 2025? We may not have to wait very long at all to find out the answer to that question. Whatever happens in tomorrow’s Grand Final, MOUZ can be pleased with yet another big step forward at BLAST Spring Open 2025.
