French org Gentle Mates has announced it has officially entered the Counter-Strike scene by picking up the all-Spanish Iberian Soul roster, which has fought its way to 25th in the VRS by grinding Tier 2 events. Gentle Mates notably fields other teams in games like League of Legends, Call of Duty, and Valorant, and now hopes it can find success in an increasingly competitive CS2 scene.

The Iberian Soul lineup consisting of alex, mopoz, sausol, dav1g, and MartinezSa has been searching for an organization for a while now. The trio of mopoz, sausol, and dav1g previously competed under the KOI banner before being dropped at the start of 2025, and it has been a long grind through the rankings to remain relevant.

They’ll have their eyes on leapfrogging BetBoom and B8, but the poor form of Liquid puts them firmly in Gentle Mates’ crosshairs. Their fate could be determined by their form at StarLadder StarSeries Fall 2025 and DraculaN, although anything can happen in the Wild West of the VRS.
Gentle Mates’ first CS2 roster is as follows:
