FUT lovers, come here: it was a Grand Final that for a moment was so one-sided, you’d be forgiven for thinking Vitality were in the server. Indeed, this one really could have been an email. But instead, it was FUT vs. Astralis, both on the hunt for their first trophy of the year at PGL Bucharest 2026. Astralis were unable to find their first trophy win in six years, after being steamrolled by FUT in one of the most dominant Finals you’ll see, even at 3:1.

Astralis held the advantage coming into this series, as it started on their map pick of Ancient. They couldn’t make it count, barely competitive in a 13:5 loss in which youngster ryu only managed to find two kills. Credit to FUT, though – they were evidently not feeling the pressure of the occasion, perhaps a byproduct of this being a studio Grand Final. Regardless, the trio of cmtry, dem0n, and lauNX all found 16 kills apiece with identical 16:7 scorelines, putting their team in pole position in the series.
To Astralis’ dismay, matters did not improve on Mirage. FUT were unrelenting, keeping their feet on the gas in every single round on the way to a 10:2 score at halftime. Astralis simply could not get comfortable, and it showed. Another 13:5 win followed, another star showing from lauNX. This time, IGL Krabeni joined his teammates near the top of the leaderboard, finding huge impact with +6.22% round swing. On the other side of the server, it was a total disappearing act, and we were hurtling towards a swift and obvious conclusion.

By the time we reached map three of Nuke, this series felt done and dusted. I believed it, but more importantly, you felt that Astralis believed it, too. Best-of-five reverse sweeps are rare enough, but when you’re this out of shape, they feel like a truly impossible task.
FUT’s momentum kept rolling, but they were actually unable to find the answers right at the death, against the odds. Astralis claimed a 16:14 on the back of a huge Staehr performance, with HooXi also outperforming his usual level when things got tough. Despite FUT holding a 10:4 lead here, Astralis were somehow still alive.
Once Dust2 got rolling, you began to wonder why Astralis even bothered to prolong their misery any longer. Anything they offered in the previous was gone, and we got the most dominant map of the entire series: 13:3. FUT, champions, and Astralis made to wait at least a little while yet before finally breaking the trophy duck.
It’s a first trophy win for the FUT organization, and a maiden Tier 1 tournament victory for the former NAVI Junior core. Their decision to stay together had been completely vindicated, and the question now is simple: how high is their ceiling? Can they become a consistent contender? Only time will tell, but for now, one thing is clear: FUT are Counter-Strike’s most exciting team right now, and their matches are must-watch affairs.
