FURIA IGL FalleN has revealed that should the team make it to the Playoffs of ESL Pro League Season 23, he will not be able to take part. According to the Brazilian, prior commitments that the team was already aware of will prevent him from playing in the LAN Playoffs, which will be held in Stockholm, Sweden.

FURIA’s participation in the ESL Pro League Playoffs is far from a guarantee. The team still have to play through the online Stage 2, and with Stage 1 already throwing out some big upsets, there is no guarantee that FURIA will make it through. If they do, then coach sidde will take FalleN’s spot on the roster temporarily.
“I think only once that I’ve gone through something similar, where I put a personal commitment above a work commitment or with a team commitment,” FalleN said during a MADHOUSE TV ESL Pro League livestream. “Unfortunately, if we make it to the playoffs of this Pro League, I’ll need to do it again. I have a personal commitment that is very important to me in Brazil on the same date.”
“It will be cool to see sidde representing and helping the team the way I usually do. Not just with shots, but with a lot of organization, a great atmosphere, and sacrifice for the team. sidde is fully capable of doing this very well.”
With Vitality and Falcons choosing to skip ESL Pro League Season 23, the gap at the top is wide open for teams like Spirit and MOUZ. Following FalleN’s announcement, FURIA may see this as a missed opportunity for a free hit at a trophy win. Vitality’s absence and PARIVISION’s elimination mean that EPL S23 is guaranteed to see a new team lift their first Tier 1 trophy of the year.
FURIA’s ESL Pro League Season 23 Stage 2 run begins tomorrow.
