FACEIT has confirmed that Season 8’s arrival on April 22nd will also come with the addition of an 8th map to the map pool. As well as the standard CS2 Active Duty map pool, players will also get to play one of Vertigo, Train, and Cache. Which map it is will be decided by the community.
Ahead of FACEIT Season 8, a community vote is being held to decide which of Vertigo, Train, and Cache will come into the matchmaking service as the 8th map. You can vote for yourself here. Train left the Active Duty map pool in January, while Vertigo left a year prior. Cache has been out of play for a long time now and remains one of the most highly requested maps in the game.
The FACEIT map pool will expand to 8 maps, starting Season 8 on April 22.
The 1,000 highest Elo players have created a shortlist, now it's your turn to decide which map joins the rotation.

If Cache wins the vote (as many presume it will), it remains to be seen whether FMPONE’s latest version of the map will be used. The creator later sold the map to Valve, although the developer’s newest version has yet to be released, despite confirmation that it’s on the way.
FACEIT has confirmed that elo is fully enabled for matches on the eighth map, though all players will have the option to remove it from their queue without paying for Premium.
A similar concept was explored with the now-defunct Renown CS2 matchmaking service, which had a constant 8th map rotation. Whether this becomes a permanent fixture for FACEIT remains to be seen.
