BLAST Premier World Final: 4 Teams Left Standing

It’s been a very quick day at the BLAST Premier World Finals that saw FaZe Clan face off with Team Spirit while Team Vitality went up against MOUZ. One of these series was a lot more nail biting than the other, can you guess which one it was?

BLAST Premier World Final: 4 Teams Left Standing

Vitality stomped MOUZ

Team Vitality are playing much better than I expected at this tournament. It’s never easy learning to vibe with a stand in at pretty much the last minute but they’ve definitely kept their form. They may have placed 3rd in the groups with a 1-1 scoreline but they came out swinging against the ESL Pro League Season 19 winners today.

But was today more of MOUZ’ failure than Vitality’s success? They were struggling and never made it past 6 rounds in the bag over the whole series. This one stings really, they were in such good form just a few months ago but this is a tale as old as time in esports – a team comes up seemingly from nowhere and wipes the best of the best out. Then the aforementioned best of the best adapt, get used to the play style and knock them back down. It’s a shame for MOUZ but having them reach this stage is nothing to be sniffed at.

Next up, Vitality are going to have to face G2. They haven’t played each other yet this tournament but with Vitality’s form, I really wouldn’t be surprised to see them go all the way to the finals.

No redemption for Faze

Despite another 2-0 victory, this time for Team Spirit, the whole series felt a lot more exciting. This repeat of the IEM Katowice 2024 grand finals may have given Faze a chance to show Spirit what they’re made of. And they sort of did. If you squint a bit.

Mirage did feel quite even and it did slip out of Faze’s grasp at the end. But gg, go next, let’s try pull it back. I wanted it for Faze so badly and while they did force Team Spirit to go to over time, Spirit came out on top in the end. Fans never want to see a veteran like karrigan go out like this but unfortunately, it wasn’t his time to shine. Faze will be back though, they always are. This roster has pretty much nothing left to prove and there’s no doubt we’ll be seeing them on the grand finals stage again soon.

In the semi finals, Spirit are going to have to face Astralis and while ordinarily, I’d say this is going to be a Spirit win no problem at all, Astralis are doing well. They managed to convincingly 2-0 Navi in the groups so perhaps they can do the same again.
