Black Ops 7 Season 3 Patch Notes: Ranked Changes, New Maps, Weapons Balancing & More

Whether it’s new maps, weapon balancing, Ranked Play changes, Zombies modes, or a free-to-play release of Endgame, the developers have updates for everyone.

But with so much to read from, we’ve broken down the Black Ops 7 Season 3 patch notes into one easily-digestible list.

Season 3 New Maps, Modes, Weapons, and Killstreaks

Starting with multiplayer, five new maps are being released at launch, with some classics finally being shown love with a fresh remaster, and other brand-new concepts.

New Maps

  • Plaza (6v6): Making a comeback from Black Ops 2, Plaza has been remade with new walljump features.
  • Gridlock (6v6): Also remastered, Gridlock was a Black Ops 4 masterpiece, and the broken Japanese landscape will be a popular choice.
  • Beacon (6v6): A new map, Beacon gives Summit vibes with a snowy outfield and central hubs.
  • Abyss (6v6/2v2): A streamlined head-on map played inside and on top of a moving submarine.
  • Trident (20v20): Taken from the Avalon POI ‘Arsenal’, this Warzone and Endgame chop up is a harbor shoreline with medieval forts.

New Weapons

  • MK35 ISR (Assault Rifle): Unlocked in the battle pass, the fully-auto AR is the lowest recoil gun in the class and boasts a speedy fire rate.
  • VST (SMG): Unlocked in the battle pass, the VST is lightweight and the most accurate SMG in the game.
  • Strider 300 (Sniper): Unlocked through an event, the Strider 300 is a bolt-action sniper that will be best used as a one-shot kill in Warzone and armor-donning modes.
  • 1911 (Pistol): Unlocked through an event, the iconic 1911 needs no introduction.

New Weapon Attachments

  • VAS Convergence Foregrip: Found in the battle pass, this is an underbarrel foregrip to improve bullet deviation and recoil stabilization
  • Shadow SK 12-Gauge Masterkey: Part of the Weekly Challenge Rewards, this kit transforms the shotgun into a semi-auto weapon with quickfire 12-gauge rounds.
  • X9 Maverick Javelin Assembly: Another unlockable in the Weekly Challenge Rewards, this quirky change makes the Javelin a glorified harpoon.

Season 3 Ranked Changes

With the Black Ops 7 Season 3 patch notes bringing in new maps and features, Ranked Play is also a beneficiary of this. Expanding the map pool with new trials that could be replicated in the CDL,

New Maps

  • Hardpoint:
    • Sake, Gridlock, Cliff Town (Yemen)
  • Search and Destroy
    • Fringe, Plaza, Toshin
  • Overload
    • Utopia. Gridlock

But this isn’t all, as the game mode Overload is getting an overhaul to avoid the ‘Park the Bus’ tactic that has been adopted in the professional scene and higher ranks.

Overload changes

  • Time now pauses when the Overload device is in a player’s possession.
  • Overtime rules changed to ‘Time To Beat’.
    • If the tie is a draw after the second round, two new Overtime rounds will be the decider.
    • The first team to score a point in Overtime will set the ‘time to beat,’ and the round will end
    • The second team has the same time in the second Overtime round to score. The fastest team to score wins, and if time runs out in round two, the first scorers win.

Season 3 Weapon Balancing

Arguably, the biggest change in the Black Ops 7 Season 3 patch notes is the weapon balancing. The aforementioned M15 MOD and Dravec 45 are being knocked down a peg, while the Swordfish A1 is also being cut down from its throne as a one-burst demon.

Endgame and Zombies in Black Ops 7 Season 3

With the Black Ops 7 Season 3 patch notes, the game mode Endgame is now going free to play and will be found within the Warzone menu instead of just the multiplayer UI.

Endgame will also be getting a number of updates, all of which will continue to offer new ways to play.

As for Zombies, a new map and mode will add to the ways Black Ops 7 players will fight the undead.
