Andbox, the esports organization behind the professional Call of Duty team the New York Subliners, and the professional Overwatch team the New York Excelsior has entered the VALORANT professional scene. Andbox announced on Thursday that former CS:GO professionals Bradley “ANDROID” Fodor and Jaccob “yay” Whiteaker will be led by Head Coach Matt “Warden” Dickens and Assistant Coach Gordan “g0g1” Prošić.

Warden was the former Team Manager for Complexity and a former Counter-Strike and Counter-Strike: Source professional player. He brings years of coaching experience to Andbox alongside g0g1, a former Dota 2 professional player. The two coaches will fill out the rest of the roster and staff but will receive input from Aim Lab, a training program dedicated to helping players improve in their performance in various first-person shooters.

Aim Lab has created a custom program to evaluate VALORANT players who are an appropriate choice for the Andbox roster. The custom platform will be made available in late September to allow aspiring players to prove their skills.

The two players already confirmed for the Andbox roster have years of CS:GO experience. ANDROID played for several organizations such as Denial eSports, CompLexity Gaming, and Team Envy. ANDROID was benched by Envy in January and has since taken his talents to VALORANT, something that several CS:GO professionals have done in the past year.

Yay also played for CompLexity before bouncing around to various pickup teams. He explained why many professionals made the switch to VALORANT and has found a home on the new Andbox roster.

Chief Product Officer and Co-Founder of Andbox Rohit Gupta expressed the organizations excitement in joining the VALORANT professional scene:

“This marks a huge milestone as we are creating the first VALORANT team that will represent New York on the world stage,” said Gupta. “It will also be the first time that one of our sthe New York Excelsior and New York Subliners, and we’re excited for what’s to come as we expand into this new game.”

The remainder of the Andbox roster will be revealed once the coaches find worthy players who also prove themselves in the Aim Lab program.
